The best places to go in: Maine
Good old Maine. This state is such a fun one to visit. There is something for everyone here.
– Portland: A great city. There are restaurants, shopping, walking, and museums.
– LL Bean Factory: This is the place where bean boots are made. Since bean boots are the most coveted Christmas present this year, it might be cool to see where they are made. (60,000 back ordered already) That’s a lot of bean boots.
– Kittery: A great shopping area. There are outlets galore and there is the Kittery Trading Post. Everything you could ever need is at the trading post. There are coats, shoes, bags, camping gear, fishing gear, hunting gear, food, clothing, and of course…Christmas magnets…they are everywhere.
– Acadia National Park: This place is amazing! It’s so beautiful and a great place to try to see moose and other animals.

The best places to go in: Massachusetts: Concord and Lexington
These two towns are some of the most historical ones in MA. This is where the “shot heard around the world” happened during the American Revolution. These towns are great to visit and have so much history. My mom grew up in Concord MA and my grandmother still lives there so I visit very often. There is always something to do. There are amazing shops, restaurants, museums, and there is a train station that can take you right into Boston. I highly recommend visiting these towns!
The best places to go in: Massachusetts
One of my favorite places in MA is Martha’s Vineyard. I grew up on the island during the summer and spent every hour at the beach. This place is definitely a place to visit in the summer. I recommend going in June. It’s warm enough to go to the beaches but the crowds haven’t arrived yet. Some of my favorite times to be there are when the crowds are not there and I can walk around the beaches without running into anyone else. This island is extremely beautiful and is the perfect place to vacation. The three major towns, Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown offer something for everyone. There’s shopping, dining, water sports, beaches, yacht clubs, boating adventures, and so much more. One of the best ways to get around the island is on bike. The island is not that big so getting from place to place is very easy. If you don’t want to rent a bike you can always rent a car or get on the bus system which brings you everywhere. The only thing to not rent is a moped. Islanders hate them and they are dangerous when there are that many cars around.

Where to even begin…
This state has so much history behind it that there are too many places to list out. Here are some of the few that I loved visiting while I was in MA:
– Six Flags: A great park where there is something for everyone
– Boston…I can’t even begin to describe all of the wonderful and amazing things to see in Boston. Check out Boston’s travel website to see a full list with categories of everything there is to offer.
The best places to go in: Vermont
Here are some of the other amazing places to visit while in Vermont:
-Billing’s Farm: An iconic farm where kids can pet all the animals and they even offer summer camps.
-Burlington: A city where music, food, and shopping combine
-Trapp Family Lodge: A great place to visit, especially in the winter. Offers amazing cross country skiing trails
The best places to go in: Vermont: Ben and Jerry’s Factory
Everyone has heard of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. With their amazing flavors and use of many different ingredients, Ben and Jerry’s have definitely been a favorite for many people. The factory is not too far from Burlington, VT and is a great place for everyone to visit. You can get tours of the factory that always end in many free samples. You can even visit the ice cream flavor graveyard and visit any of the flavors you used to love before they were retired.

The best places to go in: Vermont: Jay Peak
If you love skiing, this is the place to visit. New England is known for its ski mountains but Jay Peak is one of the best. The only problem with Jay Peak is the crowds so be prepared for it to be busy on the weekends. With fine dining and some of the best trails around this is a great place to visit. There are hard trails for experienced skiers, beginner trails for children, and trails for everyone in between. If you don’t live close I recommend staying the night because it is in far north Vermont. There are stores and restaurants all around and you feel like you are in your own skiing world. I definitely recommend Jay Peak for anyone who wants to escape and just have fun skiing.
The best places to go in: New Hampshire
Here are some other great places to visit while in New Hampshire:
-Portsmouth: Great restaurants, shopping, and surrounded by beautiful beaches.
-Whales Tale Water park: A smaller water park that doesn’t get the crowds like Water Country does.
-Canobe Lake: think six flags
The best places to go in: New Hampshire: Santa’s Village and Story Land
These two places are definitely for children. Some of my best memories as a kid are going to these kid version, amusement parks. There’s rides, games, animals, and more. The best time to go to Santa’s Village is during the winter. That’s when the park comes alive. There are reindeer that kids can feed, roller coasters, visits with Santa, craft making, and other fun activities. One that is super fun for kids is collecting all the stamps. When you first enter the park make sure you go and get your stamp book. There are figurines all over the park and each one has a different stamp depending on where it is located in the park. Once you collect all of them, bring the book back to the place you bought it, and your children get to pick a prize. It truly is a magical place around the holidays.
Story Land is another place that is great for kids. This one is best to go to in the summer. The theme of Story Land is fairy tales and stories. Let your kids go and play and explore in their favorite stories. There are rides, games, crafts, and so much more. This place is such a fun place to visit when you have kids.
